Ease of use, and utility. Analytics component is great as an added incentive to keep all members invested.
It is disappointing that the Actions functionality comes at an additional cost.

OnBoard Keeps me on-board!

Alternativas consideradas:
Great Board Management Tool!
Comentarios: Having board files in one location will cut down on the amount of Trustees needing me to track things down and will serve as a secondary backup of our precious files. Customer service is astounding, especially compared to what I experienced or see available with a more expensive, similar platform I demoed, and the interface is more modern than the other platform as well. So OnBoard looks and feels great and was well received. My life has improved since adding this feature, saving hours with creating Board materials.
Puntos a favor:
This was a great cloud-based portal for full management of board materials, easy creation of Board Books, and creation of an archive in one location. This replaced a home-brewed portal that was difficult to use and clunky. Now, I can easily create and update board books instead of wasting precious time making manual, difficult updates using Adobe Pro. Great customer support.
Contras:
Some features we don't have since unfortunately they cost extra. We also have a difficult usage case that has required some workarounds but that is on us for being complicated. I hope one day they allow more than one Zoom platform to be connected to the account.
OnBoard-Get On Board
Comentarios: I really love working with OnBoard. It is easy to use for the end-user and was an easy adoption for them. As an admin, I can set permissions to various employees, and they can upload documents without my intervention. I like that new features are always coming out to test/try. The company continues to grow, but I have not seen any negative effects of it.
Puntos a favor:
The features which I love about OnBoard are the e-signature and approval options. I am able to create surveys and get results much quicker as users are already used to the OnBoard portal. e-signatures were critical during COVID as we couldn't meet in person, but I needed signatures for approval of documents. I also love the customer support of my relationship manager. They are always listening on how to improve the product. Innovative is necessary in an electronic world.
Contras:
The minutes feature is a work in progress. I am sure it works fine for some organizations, just not me. I do not like the fact that the pre-form automatically creates links of documents in the meeting minutes. Starting from scratch is cumbersome as well. They have taken my comments into consideration. Perhaps there will be a third option someday.
This Software is Now in the Cash Flow Phase
Comentarios: We are so disappointed with the ongoing lack of support. We have been asking for basic feature additions for years, and have even offered to pay for additional development (we are a $400M company). The software platform is clearly past the investment phase, and we regret the past few years of investment from a time and financial perspective.
Puntos a favor:
The portion of the software focused on meeting orchestration is good. The feature functionality around scheduling meetings, building agendas, and aggregating attachments works well (although this doesn't carry through actually running a meeting).
Contras:
During meetings, the meeting book does not automatically size to the window. At all. As users scroll through the meeting, it is very distracting to continually zoom/unzoom/scroll right/scroll down to fit information to the screen. This functionality is standard in PDF readers. Online discussions are not threaded. You may only have ONE long-running discussion with each distinct set of people. It makes the feature useless for all but the most mundane of communications. The software does not support read-only audit users. Most organizations, both for-profit and not-for-profit, need to provide access to state examiners, federal examiners, or financial auditors. Despite asking for this functionality for years, the only response is that we may buy more licenses to support temporary users, which would require manually back-allocating user permissions to all meetings and files.

Hi Brandon! Thank you for your detailed feedback. I’m glad to hear that our meeting planning features have been helpful for you. However, I’m sorry to hear about the challenges you’ve experienced with the meeting book, online discussions and the need for a read-only audit user. Your suggestions are invaluable as we work to enhance OnBoard, and I understand how frustrating it can be when things don’t work as expected. Since we only have your first name and initial listed here, could you please reach out to us at [email protected]? We’d love to discuss your concerns in more detail. Thanks again for your review, and we look forward to hearing from you.
OnBoard for Board and Committee Management
Comentarios: We are solving the need to house all meeting materials in one, central, accessible platform.
Puntos a favor:
The feature that is most impactful to our organization's use is having meeting materials all in one place, eliminating the need to print materials and distribute to members.
Contras:
My lease favorite part of OnBoard is reliability. There are times that the meeting book will not build. That does not work when needing to present at a meeting, or when members need to view the materials and vote. I am also disappointed with the Customer Service response when lodging a complaint. They do not have a good system of notification when an issue is resolved. It leaves us guessing and considering looking at different vendors for a similar product.
Streamline Management with Boards and Committees
Comentarios: Customer service and onboarding are great. Our board and staff like the way it streamlines everything. It saves me hours of prep work for meetings, by not having to format my own agenda or information packets for each meeting.
Puntos a favor:
Meeting management through OnBoard is much more efficient than calendar invites and emails. Building the agenda is easy, and the board book it creates puts everything in one, professional-looking document. Communication with different groups through the messenger is also a time-saving feature. Eliminates group emails and makes it easy to find past conversations and information when needed.
Contras:
It would be nice to be able to delete messages and clean up the messenger section. Also, the permissions feature is great but we often forget that you have to apply permissions to each meeting, file sharing, etc. Would be nice to have that pop up as a reminder.
It's just so easy!
Comentarios: I honestly love it. We use it for board and supervisory committee meetings. It's a great way to organize reports and get a lot of information out to multiple people. Our commercial team uses it for gathering loan documents. We use the resource section a lot to store important documents so people can easily find what they need without having to figure out which meeting it was a part of. OnBoard makes my job so much easier!
Puntos a favor:
What I like most is how easy it is to create an agenda and add documents. And if something needs to be swapped out last minute, it's not a problem at all. The process is so fast.
Contras:
If a PDF is created from a Goolge document, OnBoard won't accept it. Sometimes I'll put everything in the packet and click on 'Open Book' and an error pops up saying that it failed. Then I have to remove each PDF one by one until I discover which one is the problem. Sometimes that has been time consuming; however, my company is transitioning to only using Microsoft so it's been less of a problem lately.
OnBoard is Great
Comentarios: Easy to use, all in one place resource for my Board and Committees
Puntos a favor:
Ease of implementation and ease for user, both on the admin and user side. It is very easy to use and clear where all items are located
Contras:
Sometimes a feature can be clunky when first implemented (small things like being able to move items around easily in the minutes builder) but if anything like that arise I find the team addresses it fairly quickly
Best for professional use.
Comentarios: From the first sales interactions through the customer feedback meetings, I have only had excellent experiences with OnBoard. The product has performed extremely well for us, and the customer service has been excellent. The time spent creating paper packs has been significantly decreased, and it has been very helpful in meetings.
Puntos a favor:
A word document may be used to create the agenda, Zoom links can be viewed from the OnBoard, the calendar has been updated, and there is a Resource Library. friendly to users. Continuously adding new features, updates, and enhancements. Integration went smoothly.
Contras:
In comparison to other well-known board pack software, OnBoard operates a little bit differently, so customers who are accustomed to other types may require more assistance to get acclimated to it. Because they are a little too subtle, upload failure notifications can be overlooked if you are working quickly.
Still love OnBoard 3 years in!
Comentarios: We moved from a completely paper process to OnBoard for our Board meetings. All, but one elderly Board member has used it from the outset. A few months in, we began also using it for a different meeting as well. Most recently, we also set it up for a Board committee to use.
Puntos a favor:
I love how easy it is to set up a meeting, load an agenda, and add documents to it.
Contras:
In the Minutes Builder, I wish there was a way to select a group I have set up, then manipulate who did and did not attend. We invite more than 40 people to a Board meeting, but only have 10 Board members. I have to go one by one through the invitees to delete the non-Board members.

Great Tool
Puntos a favor:
An easy way to gather all board documents into one place to present. Easy for the board to approve the consent agenda.
Contras:
It is not easy to track the terms of each member and committee.

OnBoard is a must have for meetings in a digital age
Comentarios: Paper, ink, and printer fatigue are the first savings we've enjoyed. Changes to the agenda last minute have been easily to upload where everyone can see it minutes after uploading it. Lastly, the time savings (and paper cuts) staff and the admin have from not having to do paper copies anymore has been considerable and very worthwhile. Security of the app is also great.
Puntos a favor:
The ability to meet and view agendas in the OnBoard app has been critical to the bank. In the past if staff or Directors were remote, hard copy items had to be mailed at great expense to them and if there were last minute changes, those people didn't have the right documents to review. Now everything is seamlessly in one spot, organized to perfection, easy to access, and easy for the admin to upload new and revised documents so everyone can view the current information. The time savings from having to print everything is enough to pay for the system and devices to access the meetings.
Contras:
This has less to do with the software and more to do with some of the features in the app are not easily understood by some older members of the Board that are not used to the technology updates. There really isn't an issue I have that OnBoard hasn't thought of and implemented.
Alternativas consideradas:
Fast, Efficient, Intuitive
Comentarios: Prior to using OnBoard, Board meeting preparation used to take an entire day to assemble hard copy books, plus the cost of all the paper and three ring notebooks. I can now upload the materials and finalize the Board books in 60 - 90 minutes. In addition, hard copy books had to either be hand delivered by college personnel, or shipped UPS, especially if a member was traveling. The use of OnBoard eliminated the need for all that. Plus, the Board members appreciate not having all those accumulated books to contend with.
Puntos a favor:
OnBoard is very user-friendly for both the administrator and the user. This feature is especially important for users who have various levels of comfort and expertise with technology. Our college switched to OnBoard in October 2014, and before that our Board meeting books were produced on paper. OnBoard has streamlined the Board meeting preparation process, and I like the ability to make last minute changes to the materials, to which the users have access immediately. Using OnBoard is also much more convenient for those members who may be traveling; they can log into their Board materials on any device from anywhere. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, OnBoard quickly created a Zoom/OnBoard interface that allows users to long into Zoom through OnBoard, and eliminate the need for two devices. The OnBoard team reacted quickly to provide a convenient solution for a pesky problem.
Contras:
Integration with our existing processes was not difficult. OnBoard provided online training to the administrators, and because the software is easy to use, it did not require multiple training sessions. OnBoard has continued to refine and add other features, some of which I cannot use since ours is a public board. The only thing I would change would be to allow an entire group of members to be blocked from viewing a section. Currently, I only have the option to block individuals. A bit inconvenient, but by no means a deal breaker. And that will probably be corrected in a future software update.
Upgrading our Board Management software to achieve greater engagement
Comentarios: Experience has been excellent. The quality of the product is high, and the customer support superb. We were aiming to create a true board portal that is the first place the member go when they want information, through the resources, tasks functionality. Too much back and forth emailing of information was occurring. We wanted to change the way the board worked, and needed the best technology as a platform for enforcing such change.
Puntos a favor:
The rich functionality of OnBoard, compared to our prior solution, sold us. A bit more expensive, but worth it. Since we are being force to transition to a new platform by our prior provider, we used the opportunity to license a best of breed solution, where the employees are clearly committed to their products.
Contras:
There was a bit of learning curve, especially with the Member database, establishing groups, and roles, etc..
High Quality Product with Great Customer Support
Comentarios: OnBoard greatly simplifies conducting hybrid meetings and sharing meeting materials with all board members.
Puntos a favor:
What I liked most about OnBoard was how easy their support team made it for my organization to transition to it. And our board members have loved it! We've had other board members asking about it for their organizations.
Contras:
It is difficult to remember to "publish" everything.
OnBoard is Awesome!
Puntos a favor:
It is great to use to keep all meeting materials in order and easily accessible for members of committees as well as the administrative team. I also love how I am able to lock the minutes once approved so no future changes can be made.
Contras:
Nothing, it is very easy to us and does exactly what I need it to.
Onboarding Experience
Puntos a favor:
It has been a very good experience communicating with this app and has very user-friendly interface. I use across different platforms with ease.
Contras:
I have experience login issue at times but that is also very rarely but other than that no complains.
OnBoard is GREAT
Puntos a favor:
OnBoard makes it easy to set an agenda and write meeting minutes from the agenda items.
Contras:
Setting BOD terms can be challenging sometimes on the system.
OnBoard has Outperformed Our Expectations
Comentarios: We have been so pleased with OnBoard since joining the platform. Migration of information to the site, trainings for Board and management, and all startups for the site were smooth and without issue. Since starting we have been very happy with the service we've received and the strength and functionality of the product. 10 out of 10. Highly recommend.
Puntos a favor:
The ease of use and general intuitive nature of the platform is the best. Everything is offered on the platform so there's no need for multiple systems. But the absolute best part is the people. Their support staff has been nothing short of amazing. Any questions are answered quickly and in a friendly supportive manner. Our Board of Directors are thrilled to have everything together and easily locatable in one simple location.
Contras:
While I wouldn't list this as a "con" I would say that there is plenty of room for improvement in the Assessments/Questionnaire area. Particularly in how the data that is captured is shared. I have submitted a ticket with the OnBoard support team, and they have shown true interest in improving this area and open to our idea of what we are looking for from the product.
Passageways OnBoard for Credit Union Boards of Directors
Comentarios: We utilize OnBoard for Board, Committee and departmental (Leadership Team) meetings.
Puntos a favor:
OnBoard is extremely easy for a Board Liaison to utilize to manage Board and Committee meetings. The ability to draft a template and then duplicate for future meetings saves so much time. The Resource area is a great repository of materials for easy and secure access by users.
Contras:
The product is extremely easy to use, with the exception of the Minutes Builder, which I struggle with utilizing while I am projecting a meeting in live time.
OnBoard. Worth the investment
Comentarios: Very very positive. It’s easy to pick up and run with. Extremely secure
Puntos a favor:
It integrates a lot of features that effectively replaces a number of different systems being used into one.
Contras:
Like the help to be on the same URL as the application so I have a seamless login experience.
Great tool for your organization
Comentarios: Exceptional! It is easy to set up, maneuver and the customer support is supreme.
Puntos a favor:
It is easy on the eyes, you can easily find what you are looking for.
Contras:
I can't say that I dislike anything about this software.
Assistant's Perspective
Comentarios: I am learning the ins-and-outs of OnBoard, including its limitations. I make suggestions regularly and point out problems when I find them. NB: [SENSITIVE CONTENT] in Customer Service is excellent at his job. I am pleased with the product and expect to continue to be pleased when useful updates are made.
Puntos a favor:
I use this more than anyone at the agency and I'm liking it much better than creating meeting books via combining in PDF, then printing the books, then mailing the books.
Contras:
We are all so used to the convenient features of formatting software, that I miss (in OnBoard) the ease of moving things around via File Explorer, and I also miss the hotkeys I use constantly in MS Word. Only some of the commonly-used hotkeys are available in OnBoard and others are used differently causing mistakes to be made while working in OnBoard.
A tool that captures all of the duties and responsibilities for managing the governance of a Board
Comentarios: OnBoard has lived up to the way it was first described and has a great suit of features to meet all the needs of Board governance. It is more than just an off the shelf product the personal touch in having OnBoard expert staff coaching organizations in its features in those early days ensures you are getting the most out of the product. that one -to-one interaction really helps personalize how OnBoard can best work for your organization. The ticketing system to address technical issue has also provided timely and effective resolutions.
Puntos a favor:
Its very intuitive and interacts well with the Zoom virtual platform. It is also kept up to date with evolving features to ensure the end user needs are being met. Onboard can be used on multi devises making it very accessibility.
Contras:
It only has the Zoom virtual option, when organizations often use other vrital meeting options such as MS Teams.
Great service!
Comentarios: OnBoard has been easy to use and greatly appreciated by our Trustees. They love how easy it is to find documents, and can't believe they can have all the meeting materials at their finger tips so readily. Gone are the days of paper agendas and packets of meeting materials.
Puntos a favor:
OnBoard is really easy to use. Everything is at your finger tips, and the meeting book is extremely helpful for our busy Trustees. The OnBoard support team is fantastic, and when you have a question or issue, you receive help right away.
Contras:
I really wish there was an easier way to enter in meetings. Most of our meetings are recurring monthly, and I wish there was a way to create a recurrence feature so that I'm not having to create each meeting individually.
OnBoard Benefits for our Organization
Comentarios: My entire Board of Directors is thrilled with this product as I am. We all love having all of our documents, resources, meeting minutes and such in one central location. These items are available anytime with just a few clicks. Using OnBoard has made our board meeting process run more efficiently.
Puntos a favor:
OnBoard allows me to be organized and share board agenda items with all board members simultaneously without having to send out individual emails or group mails to share documents. This software helped me not only to be more organized but as well it has saved me time in preparing for board meetings.
Contras:
If I could change one thing about this software, it would be the ability to be able to change fonts size and color, this would help to make my presentations a bit more effective.
