Bug tracking tool

Comentarios: Since it is open source bug tracking tool it is not bad at all. While it has wide range of features for incident tracking it fails to bend a little bit and be adoptable to user needs.

Contras:

Search results often fail to match searched criteria, not able to attach several files at the same time

The best free bug-tracker.

Comentarios: This was the market pioneer for free-ware bug tracking. It is easy to set up and host on your office system.
Though the UI has a few things to be desired and you need to circumvent the lack of usability, but some good user training(which you will anyways be giving with process implementation with your team) helps a lot.
If you are looking for a free ware tool - esp where you need to start from scratch and have a limited budget, then look no further. Major cons -
1. I felt the UI needs some improvement - alongwith Usability.
2. The other paid tools have good customizability - defining the workflows or even showing proper labels.
Overall Bugzilla has a proven track record of being a very good tool - esp for start-ups with less money and/or either a company or a new sub-department within the organization - where the management doesn't want to invest a lot of money. But with good process definition and proper implementation(which will also help in long) these shortcomings can be overcome. Though

1. Free of cost with updates. 2. Easy of installation. 3. Browser compatible- with most of the varieties of standard ones.

Contras:

1. UI design not attractive. 2. Customization difficult.

Comentarios: I have used it for almost one year and have very good experience for this bug tracking software.

Puntos a favor:

Bug management software basically used to create and track the bugs in the application . It chart and graphs feature is very useful to see the progress of the bugs.

Contras:

It is good but now their is many software who handle the bugs and project in single frame , so we do not need to purchase the software for only bug tracking.

Good and versatile tool for bug filing with REST API support but it has customization limitation.

Best open source bug tracking solution

Comentarios: Bugzilla is best open source solution for tracking issues. I have used it my previous company and was quite satisfied with it.

Tracking issues in better way is one of the most challenging task in software industry. Bugzilla not only by default provides one window solution for bug tracking but also since it is open source solution i can customize it for my need. Highly recommended if you want to design customize flow for issues tracking.

Contras:

Although bugzilla provides all the features to handle tasks and user stories but product name give impression that it is specific to bugs only. This create confusion among new employees and they hesitate in using it for tasks and user stories.

USed to love it

Comentarios: It was helping to keep bugs and all the issues, but it was seriously lacking a lot of functionality that any software company needs. No idea if it's any better today as I've been only using Jira for years by now.

i didnt know any better and we could only wish for something like Jira :) It didnt exist then, so Bugzilla kind of worked for us, even though it was very buggy in those years.

Contras:

It was failing pretty often, not much functionality at all, only some very basic functions. Comparing to Jira today, it was a very beginning of such products.

Comentarios: The software is free and provides some features are not there even in the paid softwares. This could be best choice for smaller organizations.

There are a few things I would like to specifically point out: - Easy to Use, I had no experience of any bug tracking software before using Bugzilla and it turned out so easy and user-friendly. - Ability to filter out columns as per requirements, for example, the severity of bug, reporter, assignee etc.

Contras:

- I felt that there should be an option to delete the comments within a period of time. - The column filtering could be made more user-friendly by adding checkboxes as in other management tools. - The attachments could be displayed in a better way (like a thumbnail).

1. UI should need to improve. Sometimes it feels boring to use the system. 2. Animated gifs are not supported.

1.) The best thing is the simplicity of the User Interface, anyone can easily understand. 2.) Ability to Establish workflows for the escalation process to track down. 3.) It is an opensource tool which can be accessible for any user.

Contras:

1.) Not cloud-based, if we have the option to do real-time collaboration this would be much effective. 2.) If it is a dashboard option provided, this would be much better to get the holistic situation at a glance. 3.) Reporting is not up to the mark

A great, but isolated bugtracker

Comentarios: Creating and finding bugs in a matter of seconds, completely hassle-free.

Up until about a year ago, Bugzilla was the bug tracking application used in our company. To cut right to the chase: as a user / bug reporter, Bugzilla was a dream to work with. It's a school book example of how great free and open source software can be. The interface is no nonsense. Very simple and clean, everything does what you expect it to do. No need to navigate through different submenus to do even the simplest of tasks. No options hidden behind mysterious hamburger menus or gear wheel icons. The most common things are but a click away. This implies there is no or only minor explanation needed to get started with Bugzilla. Even some of our sales guys were easily and independently filing new bugs or searching for existing bugs, and that's definitely saying something. One of the key aspects of a bug tracker is definitely the performance of its search functionality. This is a point where OTRS definitely scores. Its search is very fast and precise. Usually, jotting a keyword or two in the "Simple Search" is enough to find exactly what you need. For the rare cases where it doesn't, the "Advanced Search" definitely does the job, while really being "advanced" but in no way "complicated". Little secret: even though all data from Bugzilla was copied to our new bug tracker when we made the switch, I still tend to go first to Bugzilla if I need to find an old bug. Simply takes me less time to find what I need compared to our new system.

Contras:

I do understand why we moved away from Bugzilla. It is merely a bug tracker. Bugs are meant to be linked to tickets, added to sprint plannings, maybe assigned to epics together with new features. You get the point. Bugzilla wasn't made for that. Our new platform can do it all and more, in one single system.

Good option for test case management

Comentarios: Its a great tool, if you have time and resources to install it and maintain it, it will serve you well in all your projects.

Puntos a favor:

This is free software, that you can create your own server for it, and have total control over it. Configuration, users, permissions, etc. The only limit is the resources you are willing to invest in it.

Contras:

Since this is free open source software, you have all the responsibility for maintaining your implementation of it. There is a big community using it, but you won't have direct support.

Great free alternatives to JIRA

Comentarios: Overall this product has been a great tool for our project management needs.

BugZilla was easy to set up, very easy to customize, and a nice budget solution to teams wanting to get started with project management.

Contras:

The User Interface for BugZilla is not as sleek as other products like JIRA from Atlassian. But, if you can get around that, it has wonderful features and customizability.

It tracks bugs which is the only feature I used. I used it at a startup I worked at.

Contras:

Comparing it to other software is like comparing DOS to Windows. It doesn't combine project management features like other programs. The search mechanism is really bad. Also, nothing can be edited which is terrible even if you have a spelling mistake. It's like watching a conversation in text-messages sometimes.

Sufficient bug-tracking system for small projects

I thing the biggest advantage of Bugzilla is how easy it is to navigate across reported issues data. One more thing I liked is short installation and learning curve. We were a small project of 30 people and we needed something cheap and easy to onboard for bug tracking. We never regret we went for Bugzilla.

Contras:

Only available via web UI. Works really slow via mobile browser.

It is an open source tool for bug tracking and management. We can customize as per our requirements. It offers an advanced search option, it is very useful to find required data from the list. We can receive email notifications for the updates in bug. Also supports different type of charts and reports.

Contras:

It would be nice to improve the mobile UI, now it is a little difficult to handle. Also, the customization needs an expert support.

we are saas based software and provide 24*7 support to our customers. Manytimes we receive bugs which we created on bugzilla and it is assigned to respective developer . This has streamlined our process . Automated email are sent to customers when bug is resolved.

nothing as of now just one thing that software gets slow at time apart from this nothing i can think of

An Open Source project that can be used with the largest software that you plan on developing to keep track of bugs among hundreds of people. Before this software came out in 2011, I was always looking for something more effective to mark and track bugs in my software. Bugzilla is extremely easy to use and at the same functions perfectly for any project that you or your company are working on.

Contras:

I haven't found anything wrong with this software besides fighting bugs in mine or other peoples programs.

Mature software, good management of bug history, versions, for multiple products, very customizeable as well.

Contras:

Automated testing not supported as built-in functions. We managed to do it with an add-on but the graohical interface for this is not intuitive.
