Comentarios: Project governance has been basic performance measuring system. This product has reduced cost of production by eliminating time mismanagement and tracking each project development stage. It removes bottlenecks that slows workflows maintaining steady production lifecycle.

Advanced data analytics from organization generated by this platform has been critical for planning and decision-making. It helps my team to prioritize on most demanding tasks that are essential for operations. It accounts for all funds allocated on different tasks and time estimated for implementation.

Contras:

The impact of Genius ERP has been positive in the organization. I am impressed by the overall productivity.

Genius ERP for Mid Size Manufacturing

Comentarios: We have had excellent service and support since implementation. We have evolved and grown the user base, and Genius has been with us throughout the growth journey.

Puntos a favor:

Genius provides a multi module platform that is entirely integrated. It gives visibility through reports and dashboards, of performance metrics resulting for clocked hours, production costs, inventory management, accounting, estimating, quoting, and billing. It is fantastic for manufacturing environments.

Contras:

To have customized internally developed report, Microsoft Power BI is a requirement.

Genius ERP Review

Comentarios: Performing a root cause analysis of the business as a whole, data re-entry errors was the root cause to many widespread issues for us. With this in mind, running the business on a relational database was the only way to break down data barriers between departments and create streamlined processes with live data. Using genius has increased our average office departments capacity over 30% that is creating time to work on more complex projects with a higher quality of work. Our integration team was amazing, they went above and beyond to understand the business and successfully customized genius to match our processes which was no small task. We were live 6 months after prototype approval, exceeded the original scope, and stayed right on budget.

Puntos a favor:

The engineering lifecycle module is extremely powerful for custom manufacturers where a BOM can be adjusted infinitely with various versions. Genius runs on SQL database vs crystal or not as powerful systems. With SQL you have access to report builder, with a little bit of training you can customize your own reports easily which is incredible for small companies with technically inclined people. Being the engineer, ETM is a powerful time saving tool (see cons) creating more time for designing and less ctrl+c ctrl+v across spreadsheets.

Contras:

The CAD2BOM tool (ETM) lacks in a few key areas. Overall, it is very powerful, but I feel there are a few things that would make it great. The point here is they need to keep refining it and use customer feedback and provide better customer service. Our integration with it was not great but we have made it work with various workarounds. Prepare to pay for every little thing, while a service contract has updates included in them, there are still fees for them to install those updates. Since genius is geared towards small companies, they should consider the surprise this will cause. When we were sold on the system and our budget implementation costs, we asked straightforward are there any other software’s or systems we will need to purchase for on-site deployment. We were told no, this includes everything. Come to find out there were several different types of SQL licenses required to run genius and the access for users. This was very misleading right from the beginning and started the creation of a very tense erp integration.

Genius - Great Manufacturing ERP Software

Comentarios: The whole process from implementation to Go Live has been a great one overall. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] has been amazing with us!! I did feel that we were left alone a bit too much during this process, however this in turn has made us much better at understanding the software overall. Our team has adopted the new system well. We are still working through some issues and need to figure out all of the nuances of a new system.

Puntos a favor:

Our whole manufacturing process is managed including inventory control. I really like that the team can look into a job and figure out at what stage certain items are at in the manufacturing process. The engineering side is great, and allows our team not to have to do duplicate entries. This also ensures that there is much less human error since the items are imported directly from Inventor to the Engineering Document. This in turn is transferred to the job. From the quoting side, we were doing our small quotes manually previously, and now we quote within the system and then when a PO is given we convert it. Therefor no extra entry is needed.

Contras:

The accounting side is not the greatest. You can tell that this was added to the software after. It is really hard to follow the transactions. There is potential for it to be better. I think that one of the biggest downfalls of the software is how buy and sell parts are handled with regards to inventory. The system was not created for this purpose, and therefore is has a big weakness on how this is controlled/handled. The scheduling is a very hard concept to understand and it takes time to get it to work. There are items that don't make sense at times and you have to dig to figure out why. It is not always clear to know why certain dates are given. The standard reports are not great.

Why I recommend Genius...

Comentarios: Genius is very intuitive and seems to be growing quickly with the wants and demands of their clients. If Genius doesn't have something you want, they likely are already working on it.

Puntos a favor:

Genius ERP has been a great tool for keeping track of important information and streamlining processes for us. The helpdesk team is super quick to respond to any issues (if any) and the Canteens are great places to ask questions, find solutions, and learn something new.

Contras:

I have no cons with Genius. I think the consultation fee could be seen as a con but it's also someone's time to consult with you and time is money.

Genius ERP is awesome!

Comentarios: Overall, my experience with Genius ERP is very good. I have learned how to use it very quickly. There are also "help" options in just a click of a button.

System is easy to navigate; very easy to use and it has the functionalities that our business needs.

Contras:

There's not enough variation of the crystal reports.

Powerful but Challenging: A Review of Genius ERP

Great People, Great Product

Comentarios: We are at the early implementation stages. Thus far, we have been pleased with the capabilities of the product and it seems well suited for our small, made-to-order manufacturing business.

Better than Most

Comentarios: My overall experience is that it has better Manufacturing capabilities than most ERP systems.

What I liked most about Genius ERP system was that it has easy access to export/import to excel.

What I like least is the accessibility to Tech Support.

The Genius Way

Comentarios: We are only a few months past go live but compared to our previous experience(s) it's been very smooth sailing and we still have plenty to do to maximize our ROI in this product. We are already seeing some big wins in reduced hours for purchasing and receiving and I expect over time we'll reduce our transaction costs by about 30% which is a good win in anyones eyes.

Puntos a favor:

There are some very well thought out features for HMLV manufacturers, the strength of the BoM's combined with the Engineering Lifecycle Documents gives a great tool-set for managing preliminary purchases and production. The UI is intuitive and easy to follow with excellent consistency between modules which makes it simple to work with.

Contras:

On the flip side there have been a couple of things that we have encountered that seemed at first to be less than genius when compared to other parts of the system. We found this was pretty frustrating but compared to what we were using previously it's a long way ahead. The genius approach is very regimented and while this could be deemed as inflexible it also adds to stability.

Effective ERP Platform and Easy Inventory Tracking Product.

Comentarios: Highly secure project financial data management and the financial reporting features and the billing and the invoicing functionalities offered by Genius ERP are productive and quite easy.

The financial analytics obtaining using Genius ERP features and the Bills of Materials capability and reports preparation Genius ERP is effective.Production scheduling and the Construction project planning and estimates creation with Genius ERP is more profitable.

Contras:

ERP solution which has easiest financial data management tools with no error found to report or even performance issue.

Comentarios: Overall good experience, very customizable within custom reporting or adding custom fields to be used.

Can be clunky on modules needing to open for information that may link from one transaction.

Very User-Friendly, it's really intuitive to use and I appreciate it. Transactions are fast, and the integration is almost perfect.

Contras:

Having a bit more normalized terms between each transaction would help a lot, and I think the accounting side is not the greatest... could be improved.

I like the Accounting portion of Genius because it has the capability of gathering all of the reports that I need in my position. It is easy to learn and use

Preparing for Expansion

Comentarios: Genius is rooted in a history that mirrors CAD programs. The interface and many functionalities will feel familiar to engineers. In total Genius is very similar in function to other ERP systems, but there are some areas where the "Genius way" is a bit cleverer. Conversely, there are some areas that feel a bit foreign to a previous ERP system user. We are teaching an old dog new tricks.

Puntos a favor:

Starr MFG is growing. As an industrial equipment manufacturer and job shop, we see a lot of engineered to order products. Starr MFG will be doing more designing on much larger, multi-tier projects in the near future. Designs with many assembly levels and BOM with hundreds or thousands of materials. Starr needed a solution to streamline the data entry phase of CAD Design to ERP BOM creation. We needed to automate the BOM creation and remove as much human error from the process as possible. Genius had a robust CAD2BOM integration and won out in our selection based on this criterion.

Contras:

There are inconsistencies from module to module / screen to screen that make the learning curve and user experience a bit more difficult than necessary. The underlying software is very functional, but the interface can be massaged some more. The interface isn't a major detriment, and we plan on working with Genius support on future enhancements.

Comentarios: Overall I am very happy with Genius, the help from their team resulted in a successful deployment and

The integration between Engineering (Solidworks) and ERP. It makes it seamless to keep both ERP and the 3D model metadata in sync.

Contras:

It is very cumbersome to adjust work orders that have been already released.

Most functional and user-friendly ERP system!

Puntos a favor:

This is the most user-friendly ERP I have ever worked with. It reduced my use of spreadsheets for planning, it automates reports and it is very flexible for changes. I have worked with big ERPs before like SAP, and this is by far much more flexible and easier to use.

Contras:

Support should be more personal. Maybe a chat function or direct phone number would be best. All they have is communication by email.

Good ERP for small entreprises

Genius ERP software developpers really helped us by programming custom macros. There is no limit to customization.

Contras:

Unresolved bugs and enhancement request about speed slows down the workflow. Sometimes they should test more new features before launching.

Comentarios: Job costing is greatly improved.

The features related to job costing suited our needs well.

Contras:

Genius does not communicate the features provided in new releases to encourage upgrades. It would be nice to be kept up to date on this. Often there could be better testing performed prior to a release. We often have had issues following a release.

Great software

Comentarios: I have been really happy with the product so far, we have been able to streamline Manufacturing process, bill of materials and track inventory.

Puntos a favor:

being a relativity small business and having this tool allows us to quickly ramp up production and still keep track of everything

Contras:

usability is not bad, but I think could be improved. Having quicker search options would be nice as well.

We consider that we are only using Genius at 50-60% of its capacity.

Puntos a favor:

Not being able to charge the time and cost of our production employees to jobs.

Low cost tool that is "okay" for little businesses

Comentarios: Genius is not the best tool to follow inventory movements with custom reports (as SAP does it very well). It would be usefull to get features improved for that.

Puntos a favor:

The low cost of annual license (compare to SAP or ORACLE) is the best argument to use Genius as we Don't have budget to use more expensive Tools like SAP or ORACLE.

Contras:

It's very hard in Genius to follow inventory movements with custom reports with all relevant information in exportable format (Excel). For exemple, in SAP there is a transaction MB51 that is so usefull to produce custom reports to follow items with many parameters.
